2006 was a great year for Shenhua Group. As guided by
the CPC Central Committee and the Chinese government,
we continued our new industrialization route, seized every
growth opportunity, and renovated our development model
to enhance our productivity and efficiency. Our business
of coal, rail, power, ports, CTL and coal chemicals achieved
record results. The corporate reform went forward and
technological innovation was fruitful. The share price
of our listed company, China Shenhua Energy
Company, continued to rise, and the CTL project progressed
smoothly. All of our employees enjoyed
a stable and harmonious environment. I am proud to say
that a solid foundation has been laid for Shenhua¡¯ further
development in the ¡°Eleventh Five Year Plan¡±.
In 2007, we will unswervingly implement scientific development
philosophy, strengthen our corporate
governance, proceed with the market-oriented reform, increase
our capability in self-innovation, and
take social responsibilities to build Shenhua into a company
with intrinsic safety, quality & efficiency,
technological innovation, resource preservation and harmonious
environment. Our goal is to achieve
sustainable development and grow to be a world-class energy
