Coal to liquids and chemicals is a new growth engine of Shenhua. The success of Shenhua Ordos’ direct coal liquefaction project, Shenhua Baotou’s MTO project and Shenhua Ningxia Coal’s MTP project enables China to acquire the cutting-edge coal chemical technologies in the world and creates a new way in the coalbased chemical industry, which may have significant impacts on technical progress and industrial upgrading in the coal sector. The output of chemicals reached 7.63 million tonnes, among which there were 2.399 million tonnes of olefin chemicals and 5.23 million tonnes of coke.
